Birth and Postpartum Doulas
What is a doula?
a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to a mother before, during and shortly after childbirth to help her achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible.
The Westover Hills Birth Center midwives highly recommend doulas. Here are some of the doulas in our area.

Pretty Sweet Doula
As a professionally trained and DONA certified birth doula, Desiree is passionate about supporting families through their birth journey. Specializing in birth center and home births, Pretty Sweet Doula provides continuous labor and delivery support, prenatal & postpartum home visits, and birth photography.

Journey to Motherhood
Journey to Motherhood is not only for anyone expecting a child, but also for those who are on their journey to health and wellness in preparation for growing their family. Journey to Motherhood understands that the journey to becoming parents begins long before the baby develops, and that it is a multi-faceted endeavor requiring knowledge, support, and guidance.

Tiny Hearts Birth Doula
I believe pregnancy and birth are miraculous events that have perpetuated humanity since the dawn of our creation. MOST normal healthy pregnancies are able to yield normal healthy births. There are many components to birth outside the scope of healthcare providers. I believe a woman needs continuous emotional, physical, and spiritual support as she accepts the gift of labor into her body.

Salty Mama
With respect to the diversity of paths that people take in their reproductive years, I seek to provide a full spectrum of high quality, personalized, non-judgmental services to support all people and their families before, during and after pregnancy and birth.

Birth Blessings
We are a group of certified doulas working side by side with new families. With our gentle guidance, we will help you to make informed decisions throughout the many stages of labor, birth and parenthood.

Dôl Bryn Doula
Childbirth is amazing and truly awesome. Unfortunately, many families have childbirth experiences that leave them feeling like there could have been more. I hope to educate and empower you to make the decisions about your baby’s birth that create a lovely, memorable experience for you and your partner.

Alamo City Birth
Alamo City Birth provides new families reassurance, understanding, encouragement, and professional support that eases the transition to life with a new baby. We provide support during the daytime and overnight. In our fast-paced and modern society, life often unrealistically expects parents to resume the life we had prior to our baby. There’s a reason our care providers recommends six to eight weeks of recovery after having a baby.

Delayna's Doula Care
My name is Delayna I am a certified labor and birth doula through Childbirth International. I have birthed four of my own babies and had a different experience with each one of them! Twice, I have been induced in a hospital and had an epidural, I have birthed naturally in a hospital without any pain medication, and my youngest baby was born at home with a midwife.

Brian the Birth Guy
Brian the birth Guy is no stranger to this world of babies and parenting. Both of Brian’s daughters were born by emergency cesarian delivery. Brian assisted his first birth at 19 years old and knew this was his calling. Brian holds a degree in radiology, studied biology and chemistry with an emphasis in pathophysiology and owns BabyVision Ultrasound, San Antonio’s leader in 3D and 4D pre-natal imaging ultrasound.
