We're doing things... differently...

Your prenatal visits are 45 minutes to an hour long. In addition to monitoring your vital signs, nutrition, and baby’s growth, we talk about your life events, fears, hopes, and expectations. We listen to your wishes, share your vision for your birth, and get to know you as a person. The foundation of midwifery care is the client and midwife relationship based on mutual respect and trust.
Your desires for your baby’s birth are important to us. We will guide you with our knowledge and lead you to evidence-based research to make the best choices for you and your family. We strongly encourage childbirth preparation classes for all first time parents or families planning out-of-hospital birth for the first time. Education is key to empowerment!

After business “hours”, a midwife is never more than a phone call or text away. We are on-call days, nights, weekends, and even holidays for any urgent situation that may arise.
When the BIG day (or night) comes...
Once active labor is established, we encourage you to eat, drink, and stay active. You get to choose who is present at your birth. You have many laboring options in our dimly-lit, quiet birth suites, each with a deep soaking tub for your comfort.

Finally, the moment you have waited for arrives...

We support skin-to-skin and breastfeeding.

Baby never leaves your sight. Once you are ready, your baby has its first thorough, head-to-toe newborn exam with weight, measurements and keepsake footprints.

You and baby are both seen 24-48 hours after your birth. Baby is examined again, weighed, and measured. Your questions are answered; concerns are addressed; your mind put at ease. Your health and smooth recovery are our priority. Appointments are made to follow up with the midwives at the birth center. We provide postpartum and newborn care and support for six weeks.
